Soldiers and officers (wojskowi)

We help reconstruct the careers of military ancestors — from officers of the Austro-Hungarian, Prussian, and Russian armies, through Piłsudski’s Polish Legions, the Wojsko Polskie of the Second Republic, and the Polish Armed Forces in the West, to the post-war Ludowe Wojsko Polskie. Main sources include the Central Military Archive in Warsaw-Rembertów, the Officer Yearbooks (1923–1939), seniority lists, personal service files, and the records of recipients of the Cross of Valour and the Virtuti Militari order.
