Military records

Military records contain the recruit’s date and place of birth, parents’ names, height, distinguishing marks, civilian profession, religion, and the entire course of service. For 19th-century Galicia these are the Austro-Hungarian files preserved in Vienna and Prague; for Congress Poland and the German Empire, the Russian and Prussian ones.
