1930 Sejm election voter lists

The parliamentary elections of November 16, 1930 (the so-called “Brześć elections”) were held across the entire territory of the Second Polish Republic and covered every Polish citizen aged 21 or older. The voter lists compiled in the run-up form a nearly complete register of adult Polish citizens for the year 1930.

Each entry typically includes:

  • first and last name;
  • age (often date of birth);
  • profession;
  • exact home address;
  • occasionally the father’s name and the mother’s maiden name.

Why it matters: in Polish citizenship confirmation proceedings, the presence of an ancestor on the 1930 voter list is a strong stand-alone proof of citizenship — no need to chain together multiple supporting documents. The lists are held mainly in the state archives covering the place where the vote was cast.
